Extreme Performance and Scalable Architecture for Mission-Critical and AI Workloads
The Brocade X8 Director delivers 128G Fibre Channel with ultra-low latency and very high port density. Its modular design, combined with UltraScale Inter-Chassis Links (ICLs), enables flat, high-performance, and highly scalable SAN fabrics optimized for enterprise and AI-driven workloads.
Five-Nines Availability Through Autonomous, Self-Healing Design
Designed with no single point of failure, hot-pluggable components, and nondisruptive software upgrades, the X8 Director provides proven five-nines availability. Embedded SAN AI enables congestion management, self-healing, and “set-and-forget” automation to maintain uptime beyond human reaction times.
Quantum-Safe, Cyber-Resilient Security by Design
The X8 Director is built on a quantum-safe security architecture featuring 256-bit encryption, hardened Fabric OS, hardware and software root of trust, Fibre Channel isolation, and a principle-of-least-privilege access model. Continuous monitoring and automated security assessments further strengthen the SAN security posture.
Lower Cost and Reduced Complexity with UltraScale ICLs
UltraScale Inter-Chassis Links reduce inter-switch cabling by up to 87.5%, increase usable device port density by up to 33%, and enable scalable core-edge or active-active mesh topologies without consuming front-facing ports.
