About the customer

The Bachner Group, headquartered in Mainburg, has been supporting its customers in all areas of electrical engineering for over 100 years. Since the company was founded in 1920, 20 additional locations have been added in Germany, Austria, Mexico and the USA. The Bachner Group offers electrical and energy expertise from a single source and is a competent partner for customers from the industrial sector, the commercial and service sectors as well as the public sector.

Challenges

Proxmox VE was the Bachner Group's choice when renewing the existing VMware ESX infrastructure. Together, the aim was to develop an innovative concept with the appropriate configuration for a tailor-made solution.

Solutions

Under the virtualization solution Proxmox VE, an extremely highperformance, clustered Ceph storage solution with five PRIMERGY RX2530 M7 was implemented: The core component is a redundantly distributed object storage over any number of servers. The Ceph Storage Cluster network was implemented with direct LAN cabling.
